Position Title: Instructional Coach, K-4

Length of Work Yr: 9 months

Salary Range: $43,280 - $57,310

Placement based on education and experience

Department: Madison Camelview

Reports To: School Principal

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor of Arts Degree, Masters Degree preferred
  2. Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
  3. Appropriately Certified
  4. Reading and/or Math Endorsement preferred
  5. Five (5) years successful elementary classroom teaching experience
  6. Previous coaching experience preferred 

 

JOB GOAL:

To model effective teaching strategies; to assist teachers to become more effective in the classroom so that students improve in their academic performance. To establish good relationships with other staff members.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Provides instructional coaching to K-4 teachers in District adopted curriculum.
  2. Assists with the development, alignment, and implementation of lesson plans aligned to the Madison lesson delivery model and state standards. 
  3. Task analyzes and translates lessons into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  4. Teaches and models district-approved curriculum.
  5. Uses effective Classroom Management techniques.
  6. Establishes, shares, and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  7. Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
  8. Teaches curriculum aligned to state standards.
  9. Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.
  10. Effectively utilizes district technologies appropriate to the position and assumes responsibility for attending district training needed to successfully perform designated responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
  11. Maintains a safe environment for students, conducive to learning.
  12. Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified by District policy.
  13. Works collaboratively with K-8 instructional coaches/interventionists and teachers
  14. Assists with disaggregation and interpretation of assessment data to develop interventions to increase student achievement.
  15. Plans and delivers professional development aligned to Madison instructional practices
  16. Assists in test administration and entering of assessment data.
  17. Anticipates and effectively addresses unforeseen crises associated with working with large groups of children.
  18. Maintains regular attendance
  19. Complies with State Law and District policies and regulations.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Maintains valid certifications, fingerprint card and Appropriately Certified status.  Observes teacher calendar and all Madison School District policies. Salary to be determined yearly according to Governing Board approved range.

 

EVALUATION:

Supervised and Evaluated by: Performance will be evaluated by the building principal or designee.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises classroom employees, students and volunteers.
