This position is responsible for providing leadership, design, organization, delivery, supervision, assessment, and fiscal management for the School of Technologies & Trades. Responsibilities include oversight of academic and administrative programs including development/implementation of strategic plans, allocation of resources (budgets, staff, equipment), operational success and the evaluation of results that support Madison College’s goals and mission. The Dean is a key senior leader on the Provost’s Academic Affairs team. As the Dean, Technologies and Trades you will: Instill a clear vision to address current and future needs through programs, innovative instructional design, and curriculum within the School by providing leadership and facilitation of the vision and future strategic direction. Work to promote equity and inclusion within programs, schools, and the larger academic institution to foster success for all students and members of the college community. Actualize long- and short-term goals and objectives by developing and advancing budget priorities through clearly defined objectives. Facilitate the reallocation of resources and/or the acquisition of new district and/or outside funding resources. Positively impact enrollment goals and ensures that learning programs address the needs of students, business & industry, and the community by facilitating collaboration across the Academic Schools, including District economic and workforce development and cross program/cross discipline efforts supporting academic and student success priorities. Ensure that a diverse workforce is hired, trained, supported, and provided opportunities for professional development through appropriate and timely assessment processes. Manage faculty and/or staff of the School and oversee recruitment, hiring, promotion, transfer, retention, and disciplinary/separation processes. Engage in collaborative leadership contributions across the college. Serve on the Provost Executive Team and offer strategic-level insights to the overall excellence and advancement of the academic enterprise. Support College enrollment management efforts through School strategic planning. Ensure that student retention efforts successfully promote completion of student academic goals. Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision and values. Complies with college policies, directives, and work rules. Minimum Qualifications: Education Level: Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution (or from an international institution with official degree-granting recognition by the Ministry of Education or equivalent body authorized to oversee academic tertiary institutions in the country). Work Experience: Experience in leading an academic organization OR in a leadership role aligned with the requirements of the Dean position. Some examples of types of things that are meant by leadership role aligned with the requirements of the Dean position: Experience establishing partnerships with or supporting community-based organizations, foundations, and/or other outside agents. Experience managing professional employees in a team-based environment. AND Teaching or training experience.
