Position Summary
MAG is seeking a SOF KINETIC STRIKE SME for training duties in the US East Coast region. MAG Special Mission Training division's new SME position will be a part of a small team charged with training, certifying, validating, and verifying that Special Operations Staffs achieve proficiency in F3EAD (Find, Fix, Finish, Exploit, Analyze, Disseminate) operations from a TOC/JOC environment. This position will heavily focus on the education and training of Armed FW employment in support of Kinetic Strike Operations. Special areas of emphasis are TAC(A), FAC(A), JTAC to Aircrew relationship, contested/denied environment strike planning and execution, weapons employment selection, aircrew TTPs (AF), special considerations, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Advise the SMT JTAC Training Division on training and employment of FW KS Attack Aviation.
- Instruct trainees on Tactics Techniques and Procedures associated with airborne weapons employment, FAC(A)/TAC(A), and sensor targeting operations with a focus on F3EAD in both DTAAC and ODTAAC.
- Assist in the Certification, Validation, and Verification of Units preparing for KS/ JOC Operations.
- Develop and update courseware applicable to strike operations applicable to KS CV2.
- Assisting as directed in training aircraft flight operations as pertinent to SMT functions.
- Assist SMT in building operational relationships with US Air Force entities aimed at increasing long term success. Resource relevant aircraft and aircrew information from current DoD network.
- Support operational integration across Air Force Special Operations, Air Component Command, and Air National Guard entities necessary for increasing training interoperability. Primary focus for this area Is continuous relevance in LSCO and denied airspace targeting.
- As capabilities expand, providing leadership advice and support in the throughput for Simulation Operations and Distributed Mission Operations (DMO).
- Assist in the development of future capability requirements with current interoperability initiatives (STSC, SMT TOC, RPA UVDS).
- Performing other duties within SMT as directed and authorized.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- 1500 hours of Experience while assigned as an AFSOC aviator while performing duties for operational, training, or testing flights.
- Prior experience as a Subject Matter Expert in FW Kinetic Strike platforms or as a Special Operations Aviator.
- Experience with the employment of multiple and complex weapons systems and/or ammunition employed from RPA.
- Extensive working background in aviation, weapons integration, ISR integration, and intelligence deriving onboard systems. (FAC-A / TAC-A ) preferred.
Clearance
- Current / Active SECRET(TS/SCI Preferred)
Education
- Master’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree and a combination of education and experience on a case by case basis
Certification
- Class II Flight Physical
- Past or current FAA designation as a Pilot
- FAA ATP or CFII
Desired Requirements
- Prior or current Instructor Pilot rating with experience in Simulation or Realistic Military Training.
