Position Summary
MAG is looking to fill a critical role for a Pricing Manager at our company headquarters in Fairfax, VA. This position will report directly to our Sr. Director of Enterprise Growth and be responsible for individually preparing timely, accurate and compliant cost proposals while managing a team that is required to do the same.
The Pricing Manager will also collaborate closely with multiple MAG personnel and possible Sub / Prime Contractor finance elements while ensuring the team generates pricing / cost narratives for our proposal response to Government Solicitations / Contracts. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of proposal strategy and pricing within the DoD and related market segments, with a sharp attention to detail and a keen awareness of current market conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Manages and mentors the Pricing Solutions Team through the development of strategies that deliver winning proposals
- Leads the development and preparation of assigned pricing responses, working with cross-functional teams in developing pricing strategies and Price-to-Win analysis
- Responsible for working with proposal managers/technical staff to ensure required cost data is thorough, accurate, and submitted on schedule
- Prepares fully compliant and competitive cost and pricing volumes and cost narratives. Works with internal and external teams to collect and incorporate all required response elements into final compelling and compliant volume that is aligned with the technical response
- Creates and leads iterative pricing reviews with internal team including Executive leadership.
- Initiate process improvements and work with others who participate in the proposal process, to improve our products
- Interface with teammates to ensure we receive required data calls in a timely fashion and that their proposals are reasonable, realistic, compliant, and submitted on time
- Collects statistical data regarding the historical price landscape while monitoring the ongoing environment to identify competitive pricing targets
- Provides a key supporting role in assisting Enterprise Growth team in understanding pricing strategy and analyzing the profitability of business opportunities, ensuring consistent decision-making in accordance with strategic goals.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 10 Years’ experience with Government Solicitations and Proposals.
- 5 years of experience supervising or leading teams
- Advanced or expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to work flexible hours when dictated by proposal deadlines.
- Proficient knowledge of different contract, solicitation, and agreement types to include Time and Materials, Firm Fixed Price, and Cost Reimbursable contracts.
- Working knowledge of the FAR; ability to read and understand prime contracts.
- Understanding of financial management concepts such as funding, revenue, cost, profit, billed AR, unbilled AR, subcontracts, consultants, purchase orders, etc.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer service and collaborative team environment.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Desired Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- 15 Years’ experience with Government Solicitations and Proposals
- Experience preparing proposals for FEDSIM
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, TM1, VPC, Pro Pricer.
- Active Secret Clearance
