Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be part of a MAG Engineering Team that provides support of various tactical radio products to include Research and Development (R&D), software engineering, and proof-of-concept/prototyping. Additional duties will include the supporting of on-site hardware/software integration test events and demonstrations. This position is on APG, MD. Daily customer interaction within government facilities will be typical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Determine architecture/design approaches for new software releases.
- Develop software for embedded systems.
- Execute installation procedures and demonstrate systems in live field tests.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine root cause analysis.
- Determine courses of action when encountering issues and translate to applicable documentation artifacts.
- Due to security requirements and the nature of the working environment, the work is required to be 100% on-site.
- Travel requirement: 10-15%.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
- 5-10 years development experience with Linux, C/C , Python, and OOA/OOD software development methodologyJavaScript & Java.
- Be familiar with Spring Boot or Reactive Programming.
- Effective interpersonal skills, ability to communicate technical matters in a clear and logical manner and to a diverse audience.
- Experience in Test Driven Development.
- DevOps-based software development experience is required.
- Working knowledge of IP networking.
- Excellent leadership, written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to reprioritize tasking on short notice and identify & communicate the impact of change.
- Quick learner, creative, resourceful, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
Desired Requirement
- Knowing Vue.JS or React is a plus.
Other Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess an active Secret Clearance.
