MAG Industries Ltd. is a wholesale distributor & manufacturer of vape, tobacco, and hemp products, supplying thousands of smoke shops, convenience stores, and other retailers in over a dozen states. Founded by siblings in 2020, MAG is a family owned & operated company with a challenging but fun work environment unlike any other.
Job Summary:
The Buyer will research and purchase products for resale at retail stores. This position will work closely with MAG’s CEO, sales team and other operational leadership to support and implement clear and cohesive strategies, which will achieve continued improvements in input cost, supplier quality, and organizational performance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees and maintains inventory.
- Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products with attention to specified target market and demographics.
- Use reports to forecast future demand, select reorder quantities and place orders with suppliers.
- Set up all new products into sales system.
- Research new product opportunities. MAG is always looking to add new categories and products that will bring additional revenue opportunities for our customers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Constant, ongoing communication with suppliers to ensure orders are arriving on time, to negotiate better pricing, and to negotiate more effective delivery times.
- Seek out new suppliers that offer better pricing, quality, faster delivery.
- Negotiates contracts, terms pricing and promotional support with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Assesses financial risks of purchases.
- Ensure quality of the products is sufficient and up to MAG standards.
- Personally test product samples or work with a team of product testers to ensure quality.
- Attends trade shows, product exhibitions, and conferences to maintain understanding of new products and trends and to meet with current suppliers and vet potential new suppliers and products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Three to five years of buying experience in a distribution, manufacturing or retail environment required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to regularly travel to trade shows and retail locations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
