The Vice President of Operations will lead their region's site operations to operational excellence to meet/exceed all financial & performance targets. With full P&L responsibility, the key focus of this role involves building regional operations that are committed to high-quality delivery and profitable returns. The Vice President of Operations will report to the Chief Financial Officer and the position will be located in our North East market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direction, insight, and leadership to Operations Teams and Corporate team members.
- Establishes current and long-range growth plans, objectives, policies, and strategies subject to approval by the CEO.
- Reviews operating results of the region’s venues, compares them to established objectives and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
- Provides guidance, mentoring, and training to Operations Management. Creates a viable succession plan in support of the growth plan and objectives.
- Creates an environment conducive to running financially viable venues.
- Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and senior leadership approval.
- Keeps CEO apprised of all activities, needs, accomplishments, etc., in regard to his/her region.
- Acts as liaison for Operations and Corporate office, ensuring clear objectives are developed and communicated.
- Evaluates current business operations, and seeks opportunities to maximize revenues.
- Reviews business operations, and conducts on-site inventory audits.
- Seeks new business opportunities within existing venues, as well as new venues.
- Meets with the host to address needs and concerns, and builds goodwill, ensuring business objectives are being met.
- Meets with potential business clients, as appropriate.
- Reviews Compensation Plans for approval, on or before their anniversary dates, in regard to all employees within his/her region.
- Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the region, and with other departments/areas/regions within the company.
- Establishes inventory-control policy at all operations in the region, and is responsible for performing regular audits of inventory and the reporting of such to the Corporate Office.
- Reviews payroll reports, figures and notations, and processes them for the accounting department according to their specifications.
- Properly represents the organization in its dealings with employees, vendors, clients and possible clients.
- Routinely meets with host, general managers, or officers to maintain strong relationships and address any needs and concerns, building goodwill, and ensuring business objectives are being met and client’s needs and expectations are being satisfied.
- Seeks new venue opportunities within the region, and presents them to senior leadership for review.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field, with minimum 10 years’ experience in an operations management role. 5 years' previous experience in a professional position showing the ability to produce sales, build a relationship of trust, credibility and mutual respect with guests and/or partners and internal team members.
- Previous guest service experience highly desired, but not required, within the hospitality, food and beverage, or retail industries.
- Experience in Souvenir Photography in a retail, guest-oriented setting preferred, including sales experience with Digital Photography processing and sales in a POS environment.
- Desired skills to include organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
- Experienced in employment life cycle, to include recruitment, hiring, monitoring, developing, and performance management of all region personnel.
- Capable of maintaining strong relations with Operations peers and staff.
- Executive presence, to include ability to build and develop rapport at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, management and cross-functional team members.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the full MS Office Suite.
- Skilled in leading meetings, setting agendas, driving decisions, and negotiating.
- Extensive travel (50% or more a month) is required. Managing Directors are expected to visit each venue in his/her region on a regular basis. This is defined as being once a week in regions where venues are easily accessible via automobile, or once a month where air travel might be required.
