Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists and optometrists in providing quality eye care to our patients. This position requires a strong background in patient care, medical knowledge, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking patient histories and documenting chief complaints
- Conduct various diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refraction
- Assist with contact lens fittings and instructions
- Administer eye medications as directed by the physician
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and collecting payments
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and answering their questions

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred
- Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably in ophthalmology or optometry
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and ability to perform basic troubleshooting
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance verification
- Strong understanding of anatomy related to the eye and ocular diseases
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
