What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Machine Operator position at Maglio Companies?
OVERVIEW: Perform full life cycle of HPP product processing from initial acceptance of product to be processed through shipping of processed product.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Loading and/or unloading cylinders
- Monitor product volume, temperatures, times, and pressure readings
- Connect pipes and hoses
- Adjust valves and operate pumps
- Monitor gauges and record information as needed
- Adhere to SOP’s including knowing product type and all handling procedures involved with each processing type.
- Unloading and/or packaging boxes
- Remove or attach labels
- Palletize product
- Read and understand date codes
- Perform basic mathematical skills as need
- Ensure all paperwork and data entry is done correctly and completely.
- Operate pallet jack and forklift
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks
- Demonstrate good judgement in safeguarding customer, company, vendor, and employee information.
- Adherence to all General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HAACCP policies
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility
- Maintain general housekeeping of production areas
- Other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee may be exposed to extreme cold environment. The temperature is kept below 40F. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level of the work environment is usually loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the entire shift; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience working in a production /manufacturing environment preferred
- Previous machine operation experience preferred
- Basic reading and math skills
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems
- Ability to become powered industrial truck certified
- Ability to work a variable schedule
- Ability to maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality
