Summary of Responsibilities

The HSE & Lean Manager is responsible for the Health, Safety and Environmental programs at Cosma Casting Michigan and ensuring that they meet all federal and local standards as well as comply with CCMi and Magna policy. The HSE & Lean Manager will also be the key champion with regards to Lean and the key driver of MAFACT at the division level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure Cosma Casting Michigan Health, Safety and Ergonomic policies and procedures are consistently applied based on the principles of the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Corporate and Divisional Health, Safety, Environmental and Ergonomic

· Follow the principles of the Magna Employee Charter

· Maintain effective communication and coordination with all internal customers, plant Leaders and Team Members; maintain positive employee relations; listen to issues and concerns and respond (C48) within 48 hours

· Be the division MAFACT champion by providing support to department leadership, and supporting gap analysis as needed.

· Ensure MAFACT internal audits are completed on time.

· Lead Continuous Improvement ensuring that all saving items are tracked for year-end budget process

· Work with all leadership to improve processes to improve efficiency and improve health and safety concerns

· Participate in Best Practice sharing and work closely with engineering to track progress and savings

· Ensure all open issues for HSE, Lean and MAFACT are resolved on time

· Provide topics of conversation for shift communication and monthly communication as needed.

· Ensure continuation of the Zero Harm Safety program at CCMi and annually provide planning to ensure safety remains highest priority in plant

· Provide support to plant leadership on HSE and Lean issues, and support employees in concerns on these subjects

· Ensure that all open audit actions from internal and external audits are tracked and closed on time as planned

· Ensure workers compensation is monitored

· Maintain confidentiality as required

· Ensure employee feedback for Near Miss and employee suggestion program is provided in a timely manner

· Work closely with HR Manager to plan and execute training with regards to HSE and Lean topics including problem solving skills

· Ensure HSE policies are reviewed annually to ensure compliance and relevance

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
· Ability to lead culture change

· Ability to project manage multiple projects with overlapping due dates

· Strong communication skills in both written and spoken word

· Ability to problem solve and analyze inputs from multiple sources and people

· Must be able to understand written instructions

Education and Experience Required
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred

· Undergraduate degree preferred

Work Environment
· Includes office and manufacturing plant

· Must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees of all departments, management, customers and suppliers

· Provide support for three shifts and weekend production schedule

· Flexible hours and able to work additional hours as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $81,524.00 - $105,000.00 per year
