Job purpose
The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage, direct and coordinate all activities related to production in efforts to maximize productivity while maintaining quality.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, training employees, disciplining employees, directing work, assessing work performance, coaching, developing and motivating team members.
- Promote a strong continuous improvement culture by providing training and mentoring on various lean tools that will make Arnold Magnetics World Class.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Sales, Purchasing and Logistics to exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
- Ensure training is implemented effectively, reviewed regularly and revised as necessary.
- Maintain proper staffing levels to meet production schedules.
- Collect and analyze data to determine areas of waste or overtime.
- Assure the requirements of our quality management systems are maintained.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Profit and Loss responsibility for assigned business unit.
- Ensure compliance with standard workplace safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications
- B.S. in Operations, Business, Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Must have manufacturing experience in a job shop environment. Ideally from manufacturing machining.
- Minimum 5 years prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have experience leading lean manufacturing, other continuous improvement projects.
- Ideal candidates should possess: strong verbal and written communication skills, strong Microsoft Office skills, understanding of lean concepts, excellent interpersonal skills, effective team building skills, proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and effectively manage conflict and employee relations.
Working conditions
- May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. NOTE: All safety precautions will be used.
- Could work in areas with excessive noise and heat. NOTE: Ear protection available.
Physical requirements
- Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.
- Required to do repetitive work.
- Periodic lifting of materials not to exceed 50 pounds.
