Activity Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for working with seniors and creating meaningful experiences.

Responsibilities:

- Communicate effectively and appropriately with residents, families, and members of the health care team. Maintain a positive, upbeat, and encouraging attitude toward the residents.

- Conduct group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and social events

- Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require additional assistance

- Recognize and respond to the needs of the residents. Communicate a sense of caring, concern and dignity for residents.

- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress·

- Effectively manage time to perform the essential functions of the job.

- Assist with the setup and cleanup of activity areas

- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities

- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents

Skills:

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with seniors

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging activities for diverse populations

- Patience and empathy when working with individuals who may have physical or cognitive limitations

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
