What are the responsibilities and job description for the First Shift Part Time Freight Handler position at Magnum Companies?
Summary and Purpose:
The LTL Freight Handler is responsible for the timely and accurate loading and unloading of semi-trailers at an assigned Magnum LTL location.
Essential Job Functions:
- Unload freight from incoming semi-trailers at dock on receiving side of warehouse
- Reload manifest, match product in trucks to specified delivery products and locations
- Inspect freight for damage
- Enter necessary data into computer
- Reload freight into appropriate trailer at loading dock for driver to deliver utilizing propane powered and/or sit down style forklifts and hand loading
- Maintain clean environment, including removing broken pallets, sweeping inside of trailers, etc.
- Assist with projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to fluently read, speak, and write English to complete necessary paperwork and communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:
- Previous forklift experience required
- Knowledge of general warehouse processes and procedures
- High level of interpersonal skills to be able to contribute to team environment
- Must be detail-oriented and possess skills to problem solve, verify, and communicate effectively
- Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines in a rapid-paced environment
- Must be self-motivated, dependable and trustworthy
Hours: Mon-Fri , 5:00am-9:00am
Pay: $17-$19 Hourly DOE
