SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the execution and deployment of Operational Quality in addition to establishing the strategic long range plans for Quality & MAHLE Production Systems for the Business Unit 1 North America. The role will partner with the regional leadership team to identify and execute process improvement opportunities to enable sustainable increases in productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction across a range of business processes and functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Establishes the strategic long range plans for Quality & MAHLE Production Systems for Business Unit 1 North America, coupled with annual roadmaps, to achieve optimum operating results.
Leads strategic, complex quality process improvement projects.
Manage compliance with IATF 16949 requirements, including completion of internal audits.
Ensure timely and effective preventative actions as part of the MAHLE APQP process and corrective actions on all customer quality issues.
Accountable for delivering strategic results from the application of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and effective change management.
Create continuous improvement, quality & logistics roadmaps that include a comprehensive analysis and prioritization of key opportunities for the region. Include and engage cross functional members at all levels of the organization as well as execute initiatives that will drive sustainable results.
Work closely with Executive Staff, including Plant Managers, to drive and foster a cultural transformation through the business by building effective matrix teams and driving involvement and talent multiplication to deliver successful productivity, cost reduction and/or quality improvement initiatives.
Develop a wide variety of improvement initiatives, workshops and projects designed to improve throughput time, flexibility, quality and value utilizing lean techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), 8-D, Problem Solving and Value Analysis which result in significant efficiency improvements for the facility.
Create a culture which supports disciplined & systematic process management; data driven decision making; continuous improvement aligned with established strategy & objectives.
Responsible for managing customer specific requirements and developing corresponding MAHLE BU1 systems and procedures to ensure compliance with customer and MAHLE requirements. Regular escalation of critical metrics and establishment of improvement initiatives and tracking is championed by this individual.
Establish measurement systems where needed to identify opportunities and to quantify implemented improvements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires the ability to effectively lead direct reports as necessary, but also to lead as necessary indirect reporting individuals.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Production Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline, MBA, preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing processes, with 3-4 years experience in management consulting and/or strategic planning preferred.
- Global or multi-national business experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent vision regarding benchmarking and year over year progress is fundamental to this role.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification is strongly preferred.
- Proven understanding & successful application of Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies including Lean and Six Sigma.
- Ability to handle projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of business problems.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a "peer" with Global Functions and Region.
- Must have a minimum of 5 or more years of facilitation/leadership experience in which several of the following abilities have been demonstrated:
- Building executive-level customer relationships and responding to strategic business needs.
- Managing resources to meet goals across multiple products/programs.
- Leading multidisciplinary, high-performance teams.
- Proven planning abilities, including successful execution of such plans.
- Strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business correspondence, periodicals & professional journals. Ability to write executive level reports & business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, vendors & customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to do advanced math.
REASONING ABILITY
Superior analytical and problem solving skills. There will be the necessity to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form is required as well.

It is a typical office work environment with moderate noise level. Some time is spent at the manufacturing sites where noise level may be high and conditions humid.
OVERTIME
Employees must be able to work additional hours at the end of the shift, additional days during the payroll week, which can and will be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week.
Domestic & international travel will be required.
