What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Coordinator position at MAHLE?
SUMMARY
Coordinates daily activities of all personnel and processes within the department in order to provide a quality product to all MAHLE Aftermarket Inc. customers for the global aftermarket.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Quality Manager to align facility practices with those of MAHLE QM.
Responsible for monthly QM report submission.
Assist quality manager to maintain ISO9001:2015 quality management system. Serve as internal auditor.
Monitor daily activities and report to Quality Manager in the areas of Total Quality Management, Problem Solving & Communication, Supplier Quality, and Customer Satisfaction.
Responsible for Cost of Quality and conducting Internal ISO9001 Audits.
Responsible for maintaining Calibration Program, Document Control, Corrective Action Requests, and to provide proper on-the-job quality awareness training of associates and new employees.
Monitor supplier ratings monthly and coordinate with vendors to provide and implement action plans for improvement.
Provide feedback to manager on quality problems. Maintain communication of pertinent details between departments.
Complete customer requests for PPAP, customer questionnaires or request for supplier self-assessments, and interface with Sales to support requests for signed Supplier Quality Manuals.
Provide daily level feedback to suppliers as designated to eliminate causes of nonconforming material or products as received. The person filling this role has the authority to place nonconforming material on hold.
Work closely with Quality Manager to monitor performance by collecting relevant information and preparing statistical reports.
Within the position’s scope, contribute to completion of departmental objectives (technical, financial, quality).
Employee duties are not limited to those stated above, but are inclusive of any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager.
Complies with Company policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION
Minimum 2-year college degree or equivalent course work is preferred. Computer proficiency a must. Quality Control or Purchasing background and/or experience with non-conforming material and ISO9001 audits. Inventory/Warehouse related background and knowledge of internal engine parts preferred. Must have a high level of communication and documentation skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, procedure manuals, and part prints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of suppliers, customers, or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure – using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to ascertain how to react and successfully handle difficult situations. Intermediate to advanced knowledge required in computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Must be able to prioritize activities. Must be able to work under limited supervision, taking initiative when necessary. Must be well organized and detail oriented. International experience is preferred
