As a an HIM Record Integrity Specialist, you will perform a variety of document auditing functions to ensure timely and accurate completion of records and accessibility to medical records. You will analyze and correct errors in the transcription system and in electronic health records to match transcription with patient records. The HIM Record Integrity Specialist communicates directly with providers as a result of quality audits performed during the documentation verification process. You will also communicate with clinical providers and Funeral Homes to coordinate Death Certificate processing. As an HIM Record Integrity Specialist, you will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of federal, state and organization regulations and policy which relate to completeness of the Legal Medical Record. This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities. You must be able to multi-task and maintain a customer service philosophy and demonstrates an aptitude for computer work and problem solving.

Position: HIM Record Integrity Specialist
Shift: Day shift - 40 hours week (Tuesday through Saturdays); REMOTE 4 days per week and in office 1 day per week.
Experience:
1. Work experience in Health Information Management in an acute hospital setting is preferred.
2. Experience working in EPIC or other electronic health record management software is required.
3. Microsoft Office applications experience. Basic Excel proficiency required. Strong oral and written communication and problem solving skills are required.
4.Excellent customer service skills are required. Ability to work independently following established guidelines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates knowledge of medical record content, documentation requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
Education:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Approved Medical Terminology is required.
2. Associate Degree in HIM or Health Information Technology or its equivalent progress toward a baccalaureate degree is strongly preferred.
Licensures & Certifications:
1. Certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) is strongly preferred
