What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant - Planned Giving position at Main Salvation Army?
OVERVIEW:
The Administrative Field Assistant will provide administrative support to the Planned Giving Directors. This position is a vital part of the Development team and requires efficient attention to detail.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Familiar with the goals and objectives of the Development Department and the Golden State Division
- Support the mission of The Salvation Army
- Understand and be able to explain the functions of The Salvation Army structure and planned giving fundraising techniques
- Provide administrative and project management support to Planned Giving Directors as assigned
- Reply to general correspondence as needed
- Maintain appropriate donor files and database (s) as required by Planned Giving Directors
- Ensure accuracy and up to date-to-date records are maintained on all donors
- Ensure donations are promptly recorded, coded, and notified to Donor Stewardship for inclusion on the Divisional centralized donor database
- Maintain records on Crescendo
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events and other marketing projects as assigned
- Other related duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma (required)
- CA Driver’s license (preferred)
- Associate Degree (Preferred)

- Able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to take initiative
- Detail-oriented accurate and precise and maintain accurate filing systems
- Capable of handling and controlling multiple projects
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Self-motivated and able to motivate others
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (Usually file boxes)
