Job Title: Social Services Worker
FLSA Status: Part Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Corps Officers
Schedule: PT
Supervises: N/A

Rate of Pay: $17-19/hour DOE
Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
- Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)
- Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment; vacation accrual is pro-rated for part time hours.)
- Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service)
Scope of Position/Essential Functions:
· Support all Social Service activities, which provide services, programs, and events that promote or are connected to the Casper Salvation Army.
· Maintain and implement all TSA Family Social Services and Pathway of Hope case management
· Provide need assessments of clients
· Provide information and referrals to other agencies
· Responsible for the day to day operations of the Family Services Department
· Recruit Volunteers
· Assist Corps Officers with Public awareness of all services, programs, and ministries of The Salvation Army Casper Corps.
· Complete all paperwork related to Social Services.
· Maintain all records and documents for Social Services and each client served according to TSA’s reporting procedures and input that information accurately into data base
· Attend Community Meetings, building upon TSA’s Community Connection within Natrona County.
· Assist with Food By Choice Pantry program, Warehouse, and Hope Café program and Kitchen as directed by Corps Officers.
· Answer phones, and screen clients coming into the Hope Center facility
· Assist with Christmas Social Service Program, Toy Drives and distribution of toys during Christmas
· Assure safety protocols are followed and upholding Protecting the Mission guidelines and procedures
· Accept donations-properly, thanking individuals and completing donation receipt and or cash receipts
· Provide Utility assistance according to the policies set forth by TSA and Utility Company guidelines
· Follow and maintain all Salvation Army policies
· Coordinate seasonal assistance working with other departments/agencies, volunteers and corporations.
Education and Work Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent is required
· Degree in Social Service preferred
· Minimally 21 years of age with a valid Wyoming Driver’s License
· Two years successful work experience in a similar field of work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, printer/scanner/fax machines and general office procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must display the ability to be accountable for the efficient scheduling of time and resources made available to perform tasks at hand. Able to meet deadlines and work under pressures as a member of a team or independently with little or no supervision, detail oriented, accurate and precise. Capable of handling and controlling multiple projects simultaneously, Demonstrates leadership skills with a strong “team player attitude. Capable of maintaining a high level of integrity. Able to maintain absolute confidentiality. Energetic, personable and dependable. Able to work with persons of diverse backgrounds. Working knowledge of Salvation Army policies as well as compassionate understanding and adherence to The Salvation Army ministry and mission.
