Title: Electrical Program Trainer
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level:
Salary and Benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MEA Administrators Unit, Level 4, budgeted at $63,995.20.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Dean of Workforce & Professional Development, the Electrical Program Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing and executing workforce electrical training at CMCC. The Electrical Program Trainer will work directly with trainees to help them learn the skills needed to be an electrician and to eventually sit for the journeymen electrician’s exam. This work will include training students on safety, how to install, alter, maintain, test and repair interior and exterior wiring, lighting fixtures, appliances, machinery and overhead circuits and motors. The trainer will also help students to learn how to install and bend conduit, operate the tools of the trade, understand electrical measuring instruments, branch and feeder circuit installation, service entrance installation, wiring techniques, plan and lay out electrical jobs, plan work schedules, compile material lists to estimate materials needed, and electrical construction materials and nomenclature, as well as train on reviewing plans, blueprints and specifications for electrical projects to understand the scope of project. Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Formal training as an electrician including state master electrician licensure, 7-10 years’ experience providing instruction and safety for electrical work. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience working in a team environment that requires a high level of collaboration with various stakeholders.
Preferred:
Associate’s degree in a related field.
