What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Accountant position at Maine Public?
Maine Public is seeking a part-time Accountant to join our team in Lewiston! Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the finance and administration team, the Accountant works approximately 20 hours weekly to support Maine Public’s finance and business objectives.
Duties include accounts receivable, cash deposits and reconciliations, financial analysis, collections, and related financial reporting and processing.
The successful candidate must thrive in a professional and dynamic environment and work well both in a team environment and independently.
Job Requirements:
- Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and training in the areas of accounting, business administration, or a closely related area.
- Professional experience with GL software required.
- Experience with payroll function and fixed assets preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Integrity, good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information are required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
- A valid driver’s license and pre-employment criminal background check are required.
