Developmental Disorders Unit
Work with a dedicated team of Doctor’s, Registered Nurses, Board Certified Applied Behavioral Analysts, Speech and Occupational Therapists, Educators, Social Workers and Behavioral Technicians. The Developmental Disorders Unit is one of 12 of its kind in the country. Our Developmental Disorders Program is the only hospital program in Maine where children with a developmental disorder, such as autism or intellectual disability, can receive intensive treatment for aggression, self-injury, and impairment in functioning and mental health challenges. With capacity for 12 children, this program produces the highest quality treatment outcomes through a combination of expert programming, specially trained caregivers and the individual potential of each patient. It is a cutting edge research center for autism and also houses the first playground in Maine created specifically for children with developmental disorders.

Position Summary
-
The Behavioral Tech I contributes to the achievement of quality care and patient outcomes by maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. To accomplish this goal, the Behavioral Tech I provides care and emotional support to patients as assigned. The Behavioral Tech I may also assist with the collection and documentation of data and in cooperation with the treatment team members, implements individualized treatment plans.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: High School diploma preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology preferred.

License/Certifications: N/A

Experience: 1 years of experience and/or coursework in a social services related field required.

Demonstrates a proficiency in all aspects at the entry level position.

Must be able to annually demonstrate competency in seclusion and restraint training.
