Position Summary

  • This position involves collecting, analyzing and quality assuring outcome data for Cardiology patients who undergo diagnostic and interventional procedures.  Acting as a resource performing special projects as assigned by the Director of Cardiology and the Director of the Cath Lab.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: See "License/Certifications"
  • License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Maine. BSN strongly recommended.
  • Experience: Thorough knowledge of theory, practice, principles, processes and issues of cardiac nursing usually acquired through 2-3 years clinical experience.
  • Familiarity with computer systems applications, particularly PC-based, in clinical settings.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain adjunct nurse privileges.
  • Evidence of 24 hours of continuing education recommended to maintain a competent level of practice.
  • Analytical ability sufficient to identify changes in outcome data that may require intervention by the Director of the Cath Lab or his/her designee.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and complex projections through all phases of development to completion.
  • Knowledge of MMC organizational structure, roles, relationships and of the Cardiology Department's relationship within the hospital.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with Director of Cardiology, Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab, Research Coordinators, Physicians and nurses as well as personnel who may interact with Cardiology Services.
