By educating nursing students, we are also educating our future nurses; by refining their skills and expanding their knowledge will help advance quality of patient care. Help shape the nurses that will have an impact on many patients, families, and other nurses long after the initial interaction.
This position will support the clinical nursing education programs within MaineHealth in the Northern Regions and may include travel to: Belfast, Rockland, Damariscotta, Norway, Farmington ME and North Conway, NH.
This position requires schedule flexibility and could require day, evening and weekend commitments based on school/unit availability.

Under the general direction of and in association with the Senior Director of Nursing Academics and the CNO of MaineHealth provides leadership and oversight for clinical nursing education. In collaboration with the Senior Director provides for a model of progressive clinical education and professional development in nursing. In association with the Senior Director and clinical nursing leadership as well as academic partners. Oversees and guides MH Clinical Nurse Educators and supports a pathway for their ongoing development in that role.

Education: Comprehensive knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, research, education, in nursing acquired through the completion of a Masters Degree/preferably a doctorate degree in Nursing.

License/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in practice and nursing education in acute care clinical and learning environments with expertise in educational curriculum design and technology. Prior practice in diverse clinical settings is preferred.

Expertise in the application of teaching and learning methodologies related to progressive developmental levels in nursing practice. Experience with high fidelity simulation techniques preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in human resource management and leadership.

Analytical skills sufficient to design, direct, and evaluate systems, processes, and outcomes.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in other departments, disciplines, and practice and academics. Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
