What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dentist position at MaineHealth?
This is a part-time, 24 hour per week position.
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate dentist to work 2-3 days a week. We are a free medical and dental clinic that serves uninsured adults with low incomes who live in Midcoast Maine.
We are looking for someone who is positive, caring, flexible and dependable to join our team. You must have a current State of Maine dental license and have graduated from an accredited dental school. Experience with oral surgery is preferred. This is a salaried position, and you will get full pay, regardless if your patient "no shows" or if the clinic is closed.
Because our services are free, we do not bill insurance companies nor the patient. This means our dentist can deliver care based on our patients' needs, not what they can afford. This is an opportunity to make a difference while also making a living.
Our clinical space includes state of the art, negative pressure operatories. We provide scrubs, eye protection, fit tested N95 masks, disposable jackets and gowns, and gloves.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Degree from an accredited School of Dentistry and an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Maine.
- License/Certifications: Will have up to date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support.
- Experience: N/A
- Able to perform all aspects of basic dentistry services and to work as a team member.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to public health dentistry.
