Summary
This is a per diem – as needed Float Medical Assistant position
The Float Medical Assistant performs various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. He/She will work directly with healthcare practice staff and will step in for other MAs when a department is shorthanded. He/She works as an integral part of the clinical teams across all Midcoast practices.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
- License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Current BLS certification within 3 months of hire required. An NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
- Experience: 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or 6 months of experience and certification required.
