Position Summary

This is specialized clinical work performing and assisting with Magnetic Resonance Imaging for use in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
-
Education: Knowledge of Magnetic Resonance equipment, procedures and techniques, magnet safety and protection as well as anatomy and physiology at a level generally acquired through completion of a two year program in an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology.

License/Certifications: Current State of Maine license in Radiography.

Experience: Prior experience as a MRI Scanning Technologist.

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.

Analytical ability to determine the best method of providing requested images based on the patient's physical state and pathologies.

Interpersonal skills necessary to explain MR procedures to patient to allay apprehensions and elicit cooperation. Must communicate effectively with radiologists.

ARRT registration MRI is strongly preferred or must be obtained within 12 months of employment.

Ability to perform/adapt to the changes associated with two different work environments with different equipment.
