Summary

  • Position Summary
    • The Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides comprehensive care to neonates under the supervision of the attending neonatologist and associate supervising physicians as directed by MMC established protocols. All medical services performed by the NICUAPP shall be within his/her scope of practice, fall within the Neonatology APP core privileges as well as within the scope of clinical practice and privileges of the supervising physician(s). In collaboration with the health care team, the NICU APP demonstrates analytical reasoning/critical thinking in providing continuity of care for complex NICU patients during extended hospitalizations.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Master's degree Preferred. Graduate of approved Advanced Practice Program.
    • License/Certifications: Current Maine Advanced Practice license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the appropriate certifying body: NCC, ANCC, PNCB, NCCPA. Currently hold or eligible for DEA in the state of Maine.
    • Experience: N/A
