Job Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will play a pivotal role in accurately assessing project costs and timelines, collaborating closely with various departments to ensure projects are executed efficiently and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of construction and maintenance processes. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Cost Estimation: Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of project requirements to determine accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bids and proposals based on project specifications and client requirements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and competitiveness.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather necessary information and insights for precise estimation and seamless project execution.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with projects, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project success.
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets throughout the lifecycle, tracking expenses, identifying variances, and implementing cost-saving measures whenever possible.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bids, contracts, and other project-related documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Client Communication: Engage with clients to discuss project requirements, clarify inquiries, and address concerns, maintaining a professional and customer-centric approach at all times.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to enhance estimating processes, optimize efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction, maintenance, or related industry.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., square takeoff)
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and calculations.
- We require someone who knows how to read civil plans and can do the takeoff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in construction and maintenance environments.
