Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Includes but are not limited to the following.

  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Welds parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of continuous feed or wire.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, maintains and repairs grain handling equipment (i.e., conveyors, legs, motors, gear boxes) or related equipment.
  • Use of power tools such as grinders, saws, drills, etc.
  • Moves machinery and equipment such as telehandler, skid loader or forklift.
  • Assembles and installs equipment.
  • Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
  • Aligns machines and equipment.
  • Dismantles machines.
  • Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
  • Maintain open communication with Supervisor, other departments and fellow employees.
  • Cooperates with other employees.
  • Performs related departmental duties as requested by Supervisor and other management that are not covered in this document.
  • Maintains records of maintenance activities.

Position Requirements:

  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with a good mechanical aptitude.
  • This position requires the ability to work in all types of environments including but not limited to elevated areas(heights), dusty conditions, variety weather conditions(hot to cold).
  • This position requires the ability to do heavy lifting (50-75 lbs. or more).
  • Understanding of the time commitments of the role throughout the year (50 to 65 hours per week).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive. Travel between locations is required.
