We are seeking a passionate and dedicated
Part-Time Faith Coordinator (FC) to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Fun, Faith, and Experience, the FC will play a pivotal role in fostering connections with faith communities to enrich the spiritual experiences of individuals with IDD.
Some principal functions of the Faith Coordinator include:
- Collaborate with faith communities to explore opportunities for individuals to engage in self-determined religious experiences.
- Develop strategies to meet the spiritual and religious needs of individuals, fostering an inclusive environment based on unique aspirations.
- Provide religious and spiritual guidance, creating partnerships with various religious affiliations.
- Educate and engage employees on religious, spiritual, and faith identity, rituals, and traditions.
- Collaborate with leadership on faith and religious culture, observance of holidays, and community engagement.
Qualifications
To be Makom’s next Faith Coordinator, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in a human services discipline or ordination in Judaism.
- Theology studies is a plus!
- Demonstrable experience in providing religious/faith supports and working with Jewish faith communities.
- Knowledge of Jewish practices and traditions; willingness to learn other religious traditions.
- Strong program planning and implementation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a flexible schedule and navigate multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Valid MD, VA, or DC driver’s license; ability to pass screenings and required trainings
