In response to our growing number of patients, we are looking for a talented Ophthalmic Technician to join our practice, caring for around 10-13 patients per day. For the right addition to our fantastic team, we offer a comprehensive compensation package which includes:
- Base pay of $22-26 per hour depending on experience and certification

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm (part time options available)
What you’ll do
- Obtain patient history and primary complaint, check vision, instill eye drops and chart procedures for medical records/EMR
- Perform diagnostic testing including OCTs, visual fields, and fundus photography
- Field patients’ questions during visits and via phone, providing advice and resolving problems in consultation with the doctors
- Use and maintain equipment and supplies appropriately
- Schedule surgeries with patients
- Submit patients’ prescriptions and prescription refills, with physician’s approval
- Assist Dr. Malouf with office procedures and patient care
- As a purposely small practice, we appreciate leaning into other areas of day-to-day operation to support each-other as required
What you’ll bring to the team
- A patient first mindset, with a desire to get to know your patients as people first and make them feel at home
- Team player with a can-do attitude as well as strength in working independently and proactively, with pride for your work and for the practice
- Generate and communicate ideas to continuously improve our practice environment and patient values
- At least 2 years experience working in an Ophthalmic Technician role, preferably within a similar practice environment
- Have obtained COA/COT, in progress of completing or have an interest in commencing
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to prioritize assignments and projects in an efficient and timely manner
- Moderate computer skills including knowledge of MacOS, Apple iOS, Microsoft Office, Google Docs. Experience with EMR systems a plus, but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
