Job Purpose:
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, under the direction of the Director of Finance and Accounting, will manage collaborative cross functional conversations to drive relevant, flexible and efficient financial planning and analysis that supports key business decisions. This position will manage the business cycles – long range and budget planning, actuals, forecasts providing necessary analytics and operational drivers for business performance. The individual will have a strong business partner mindset with clear views on the needs of the business. The individual will be curious and have a passion to make the company successful.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
60% Financial Planning and Analysis
- Serves as a key financial resource. Acts in a consulting role with corporate and plant leaders, demonstrates understanding of the financial analysis process and applies that knowledge to developing cost effective analyses and recommendations and supporting the budgeting process.
- Leverages strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills to support the financial course for the business.
- Thinks laterally, identifying new metrics and analytics to quantify the value created across businesses.
- Prepares monthly business review meetings in partnership with business leaders and cross functional finance partners
- Support the forecasting, planning and reporting
- Supports the in-year performance management of the business, measured by profit improvement (wider margins), lower costs and improved working capital.
- Demonstrates strong commercial acumen. Able to understand the business (products, customers, processes) and their key drivers of success (how they make money, what the business costs are)
- Work closely with the Accounting teams to ensure tight finance controls and fulfill external audit requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the P&L to align to our long-term strategy
- Manage and develop a team of two direct reports
20% Process improvement:
- Develop analytics and reports to support the team in driving consistent use of business support tools (SAP).
- Contribute to the development of better Business Intelligence analyses/reports
- Utilize and improve existing frameworks and reports to enhance the analytical environment in operations.
- Establish new key performance metrics where appropriate.
20% AD HOC PROJECT SUPPORT:
- Provide analytical support for management with insights into drivers of revenue and expenses, as well as risks and opportunities.
- Provide financial modeling, financial analysis for business growth, new fixed assets or any other ad-hoc financial projects
- Active participation in various business finance initiatives and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related degrees; MBA Plus
- 10 years of experience in similar discipline or external audit
- Experience in a global manufacturing and supply chain environment
- Ability to develop long-term strategic plans
- Experience with ERP systems; preferably SAP
- Advance MS Excel skills
- Hyperion experience a plus
- Strong verbal, quantitative, and written communication skills
- High standards of accuracy and precision; strong attention to detail; highly organized
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and take ownership with projects
