MANA is the world’s leading contract and private label cosmetics manufacturer of color cosmetics, skincare, and hair care. We’re looking for a talented Sr. Chemist to join our team. The ideal candidate is technically proficient in pigmented emulsions and has a keen eye for innovation.
What you will do As a Sr. Chemist - Color Cosmetics/Skincare, you will have the opportunity to formulate high-complexity skincare and/or color formulations to meet clients' needs independently in a timely manner.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Partner with Sales and cross-functional team members to formulate various types of Color/skincare cosmetic products.
- Independently reproduce formulations based on in-market benchmarks and develop novel, innovative formulas based on detailed product brief from the customer.
- Proactively identify innovation opportunities in addition to daily workload and develop novel formulas applying the latest emerging industry technology.
- Determine and record product specifications for any type of formulated product.
- Follow good laboratory practices and MANA SOP’s when recording formulations and relevant data in lab books and computer/using laboratory equipment.
- Work closely with the Stability Lab to follow up on the stability testing status of formulas to take necessary actions.
- Coordinate the activities of technicians when necessary.
- Partner with Process Development to ensure smooth transition of projects from bench scale to Production. Assist Production as required to troubleshoot technical issues.
Education / Experience
- B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline required.
- 5 years of formulation experience in the Color/Skincare cosmetics categories. Technically well-versed in pigmented emulsions.
- In-depth technical understanding of the different categories of raw materials used in Color Cosmetic formulations is a must.
- Knowledge of the different processing methods (lab and manufacturing equipment) used in the manufacture of Color/Skincare cosmetic categories.
- Demonstrated history of developing novel, innovative, and differentiated cosmetic products for launch to the market.
- Knowledgeable on GMP, FDA, and OSHA regulations.
- Prior experience in private label contract manufacturing preferred.
