Clinical Research Pharmacist - DH; Fort Wayne, IN
Our client, a large healthcare entity in Northwest IN, has a need for a Clinical Research Pharmacist at their two hospital locations in Fort Wayne, IN. The Pharmacist provides expertise in clinical research trial execution including scientific, clinical, & administrative functions of drug research in Oncology and non-Oncology trials, as well as staff education. The Pharmacist will be working days. This pharmacy is an early adopter of and best-practice site for integrated tech including: Epic©, Pyxis® MedStations™, Pyxis® CII Safe™, Talyst’s Autopack® and Autopharm® inventory management, Smart Infusion systems, and Baxa EM 2400™ TPN compounder.
Bonuses: Position is eligible for Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Bonus
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible & accountable for:
- Clinical trial protocol review and establishment of pharmacy role in the clinical trial
- Inventory management and accountability of investigational drugs
- Accurate preparation and dispensing of investigational drugs
- Develops and maintains investigational drug SOP
- Communicates w/and coordinates pharmacy services w/interdisciplinary teams/services/agencies
- Coordinates the use of investigational drugs across multiple services and locations in Fort Wayne
- Distributes when needed including: procurement, dispensing, and sterile and non-sterile compounding functions
Education & Skills Required:
- Candidates must possess a pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Must have completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency/have equivalent hospital practice experience
- Pharmacy licensure, or eligibility, in Indiana is required
- BPS certification or similar credentialing required within 3 years of hire or once eligible
Preferred Experience:
- Previous Oncology experience preferred
- Previous experience in clinical research/investigation drug services highly preferred
- BCPS or BCOP preferred
