Job Responsibilities:
Design and implement cloud-based PaaS solutions in Azure.
Participate in and support good agile development practices.
Help guide and build continuous integration and continuous deployment processes.
Design, develop, test and support .NET Core applications using the Microsoft technology stack.
Participate in code reviews offering constructive improvements for others and ensuring adherence to architecture standards, code consistency and maintainability.
Develop websites using modern tool sets for various form factors.
Stay abreast of updates to the technology stack and associated tools used and identify where new opportunities exist to leverage the latest technology offerings for business gain.
Able to communicate technical subjects at a level that takes into account target audience knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.

Qualifications:
Experience developing software using agile practices.
Experience using and setting up continuous integration/deployment processes.
Experience with database automation solutions.
Experience developing and building web-based applications (ASP.NET / ASP.NET MVC / ASP.NET Core).
Experience developing applications that use SQL Azure and beyond.
Practical knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS and other web standards.
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal working with colleagues and customers.
C# and general application design skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Ability to work well with other developers and management.
Awareness of emerging technologies
Technologies:
Microsoft web development stack: C#, .Net Core, ASP.Net Core.
Working knowledge and experience with single page applications (SPA) using current JavaScript frameworks & tooling such as Angular, React, Chrome Debugger, Html5 and Modernizer.
Working knowledge of RESTful API development and Data Serialization techniques (JSON).
Hands on relational database knowledge as well as document based database knowledge.
Strong proficiency in the constellation of technologies that make sites work like: Modernizr, pollyfills, SaSS/Less, Scout/Compas, TypeScript, NuGet.
Proficiency in software design – Cloud Patterns, Dependency Injection, Design Patterns, Unit Testing, Integration Testing
ORMs (Entity Framework, NHibernate etc.)
Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
Experience with the following would be an asset:
Serverless or Microservices architecture
Professional Scrum Certifications (PSD, PSF, PSPO, etc)
Life insurance domain
Protocols and network that underpin the web: HTTP, DNS, IP, SSL, Load balancing
Iterative release cycles and development approaches (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
Design principles (design patterns, cohesion/coupling, S.O.L.I.D. etc.)
Leading development teams
Basic system administration and networking skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of industry experience.
