Role Summary:

This role is responsible for production underwriting for a variety of product types and underwriting requirements within the MRS platform and/or directly within a Client Partner’s systems. The type of underwriting may vary from traditional to accelerated.  In addition, this role includes being knowledgeable in all underwriting requirements and having the ability to classify risk within the requirements or guidelines to meet our clients' goals in an accurate and timely manner. Understanding and interpretation of the design and implementation of automated underwriting rules, integrations, and guidelines may be necessary to support client/partners. Ability to quickly adjust to changing requirements, guidelines, and assignments is key.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

• Adept with current and emerging risk selection requirements and tools; determine their impact on mortality/morbidity and assign risk classification according to stated guidelines and/or provided manuals
• Meet or exceed accuracy, timeliness, and productivity expectations and collaborate with management and client to improve results.
• Accurate and timely documentation and communication with all parties in all formats associated with application process
• Ability to implement Client/Partner specific rules and requirements
• Accurately track work production output
• Assure privacy and security in all interactions
• Self-management and accountability in a remote work setting
• Flexibility in work realignment and adaptability to pitch in where needed
• May require occasional travel for onsite training

People Interaction:

• Effectively communicate with Management, Support Staff, Applicant, Agents, Client/Partner, Medical Director to expedite cases and provide underwriting decisions
• Collaborate with coworkers and management and escalate any barriers in a timely manner
• Mentor teammates to assist in their career growth
• Work from home available in select States

Education & Experience:

• 10 years of Life/Health Underwriting with progression to senior level
• LOMA/ALU Courses/designations
• Accomplished at evaluating underwriting data sources, prescription drug histories, medical records, laboratory results and determine their impacts on mortality/morbidity for sound risk classification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
