JOB TITLE: ADULT DAY SERVICES MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: Adult Day Services (River Crossings Program)
PURPOSE: Reports to the Director of Community Services and facilitates all aspects of the Adult Day and Vocational Habilitation Program. Acts. Is responsible for supervising and assisting individuals served by Manahan in activities and programs as outlined in the individuals’ daily schedules, and assuring active treatment is completed.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Encourages and maintains good communication with the Community Services Director and co-workers. Acts as a liaison between the Director and Adult Day Habilitation staff.
2. Assists the Director in the developing and marketing of vocational and adult day habilitation opportunities for individuals wishing to receive services for their vocational needs
3. Assesses individuals for appropriate placement in their field of expertise to ensure the success of their vocational work and oversees the functions of job services. Completes the necessary employment information on the Outcome Tracking System on the DODD portal.
4. Assists Director in the development and oversight of the budget for the Adult Day Services Program.
5. Supervises, develops and schedules employees. Assists director with conducting performance reviews and provides corrective action as needed. Interviews and recommends hiring of staff.
6. Oversees development of the monthly activity calendar for the program, seeking input from the individuals served, staff, and the Community Adult Recreation Program.
7. Conducts safety training, including performing fire drills once a month and as needed as well as a tornado drill one time annually and responsible for appropriate documentation of same.
8. Conducts staff meetings, attends OISP meetings, core team meetings and in-service programs when required including New Staff Orientation, and participating as an instructor when required.
9. Completes bi-weekly payroll for individuals and employees.
10. Completes weekly waiver billing and submits to billing agent.
11. Maintains compliance with local, state and federal regulations and standards. Ensures compliance with maintaining licensure and meeting the Department of Labor requirements for employment purposes for the individuals.
12. Performs First Aid or CPR as necessary.
13. Uses behavior support strategies as approved by Manahan and as indicated by behavior support language, as necessary.
14. Identifies situations that require an unusual incident report (UIR) to be written and completes UIRs/MUIs as necessary and completes all necessary follow-up. Maintains and reviews monthly UIR logs. Completes and submits annual MUI analysis.
15. Ensures proper implementation and documentation of individuals’ program as scheduled. Completes daily behavior and program charting for individuals and any other documentation that may be necessary.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor or Associates Degree in Education, Human Services or related field preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with job coaching, teaching, or activity planning, implementing and adapting for individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Supervisory experience with employees a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be available to work in emergency situations.
Must be available to work flexible shifts, days / hours as requested by director.
May be exposed to infectious diseases and behaviorally aggressive individuals.
May be exposed to hazardous cleaning materials / supplies.
