Job Title – Planning and Zoning Tech I to Senior DOQ
Department – Development Services
Division – Planning and Zoning Section
Address – 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34205
Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Manatee County Development Services works with the property owners and contractors, to strategically move projects and the county forward. From our planning division where we conduct zoning and address environmental reviews to our building division where ideas take shape. Planning and Zoning Tech I – You will work with a team to assist the general public and development community, as well as provide overall support to the Planning division. You will answer phones, respond to emails, and assist the public in the lobby. You will also conduct research, assist with the intake of applications, write zoning verifications and complete zoning reviews.

Required Skills:
Tech I
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum two (2) years customer service in public sector, construction, regulatory agency, or field closely related to area of assignment.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification required with a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in planning, construction, zoning and land use regulation, engineering or field closely related to area of assignment.
- High school diploma or equivalent Certification.
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in planning, construction, zoning and land use regulation, engineering or field closely related to area of assignment.
- Associate’s degree in planning, engineering, construction, architecture or similar field, with a minimum of three (3) years professional experience in planning, construction, zoning, land use regulation or a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in planning, construction, zoning and land use regulation, engineering or field closely related to area of assignment.
Desired Skills
- If applicable to area of assignment, Florida Storm water, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, if applicable to area of assignment.
