Hours: Monday thru Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM Weekend/after hour OT required at times

The Parks & Grounds Maintenance Division provides maintenance to over 54 parks, including 3 beaches, totaling over 1,200 acres and over 40 non-park areas, beach facilities, Board of County Commissioner and Constitutional Officers' facilities, and monitors landscaping and general grounds maintenance. The Park & Grounds team maintains athletic/sports fields, tennis and basketball courts, restrooms, picnic pavilions, sidewalks, park signs, landscape beds, trees, playground equipment, fences, boat ramps, irrigation systems, multi-use trails, parking lots, and lighting of various types
. As a Parks Maintenance Supervisor of the North River parks, you oversee the crew and maintenance of very active parks with baseball and soccer fields. This includes the daily cleaning, mowing and beautification of all the parks. You will be a working supervisor, leading your crew of 8-10 park maintenance technicians and custodians based on season. Handle all communication with the leagues and users at your parks. The position works closely with the Sports and Leisure department that books all field and pavilion rentals to ensure they are ready for the renter.

What You Will Do - Manage crew to ensure fields are always setup, in great shape and prepared for the clients renting them out.
- Oversee the maintenance of the Blackstone Park, Lincoln Park, Buffalo Park, Ola Mae Park, Sylvan Oaks Park, Highland Shores boat ramp, Rocky Bluff and Palmetto Libraries.
- Handle all purchases and projects at your facilities, complete required paperwork, time and attendance and work within the established budgets.
- Maintain highest level of standards of preparation, setup and turf quality expected at Manatee County Parks, working closely with the turf management specialist for turf applications.

Required Skills- High school diploma or equivalent certificate of competency.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in general grounds maintenance, building maintenance and construction, or small engine repair and maintenance (in accordance with area of assignment.)
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience or must complete a minimum of twenty (20) hours of supervisory training (type determined by department) within one (1) year of hire.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Depending on area of assignment, valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
