Graphic Design

Graphic Designer needed at a Willoughby company. This will be a full-time temp to hire role.
The right candidate will have experience with Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat and work on a PC platform.

(( this is not a position for a Creative Graphic Designer. There is little to no original design opportunity. This is taking our customers ideas / art and making it print ready.))

Pay starting at $18hr
Hours 8am - 4pm M-F
* OT as needed during busy seasons

Ideal candidate for Graphic Designer would possess the following:
• Must be comfortable with design tools of Adobe Creative Suite—Photoshop, Illustrator, and most importantly, InDesign.
• Must understand basics of design asset management—vector vs raster images and their uses, what image formats are/are not appropriate for print, how to organize, categorize, and label large quantities of files, etc.
• Must understand basics of color management—what a spot color is, what color modes are for print vs screen, managing InDesign's color palette to ensure quality in print
• Must be just as comfortable creating new works as updating old ones. Some clients want brand new designs with only a set of vague notes to go on. Other want new versions of existing ones, just updating colors and fonts to match their branding. The majority fall somewhere in between. The ideal candidate can work equally well in those situations with very strict guidelines and in those with virtually none.
• The job is full-time, but the workload is seasonal. In the spring/summer, work is slow, and it can be difficult to remain focused. In the fall/winter it becomes busy, which can be stressful, and will likely necessitate some overtime. A good candidate must be able to handle both situations with professionalism.

Requirements:
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task, handling multiple projects at a time and dealing with tight, overlapping deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving and decision making skills
- Design and layout direct mail and other collateral for print
- Ability to take direction from clients and create designs and layouts to meet printer specifications and adhere to the client’s branding
- Working understanding of design principles including typography, visual hierarchy, color and layout
- Knowledge of printing processes
- Preflight and correct files from clients to ensure they are print ready
- Ability to create multiple design options for clients
- Acquire, create, color correct or manipulate images and graphics for use in designs
- Prepress experience preferred, digital press environment
- Programming and web experience
