Position Title: Transportation Dispatcher
Starting Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
Reports To: Transportation Manager
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Degree, equivalent or greater
Knowledge of local streets
Possession of or ability to obtain CDL-B, Passenger Endorsement, School Bus Certificate, Air Brake, DOT Medical Card
Previous dispatch experience preferred.
Specific Core Function:
This position is responsible for daily school bus operations, interacting with Operations and Maintenance Staff, and providing customer support services.
Responsibilities of the Position:
Provides oversight and implementation of school bus routing.
Opens and closes the school operations office.
Provides 2-way radio and phone support.
Files daily crew sheets.
Approves or denies school bus driver time off requests.
Responds to customer telephone inquiries in a timely manner.
Coordinates with maintenance on vehicle availability and communicates driver issues as needed.
Specified Length/Hours of Position:
This is a non-affiliated 228-day position. This position is a salaried position that requires a minimum of 40 hours per week including weekend, holiday, and evening work as needed. This position is also “on-call” as needed to ensure proper operational management coverage. Work hours are generally, Monday-Friday: 5:30am-9:30am, 1:00pm-5:00pm
