Overview
Receiving Supervisor will perform supervisory functions to include but not limited to the receipt of inbound freight for the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority) and assisting in the Warehousing & Logistics Support contract as directed by the Program Manager or Inventory Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the supervision in processing inbound freight (LTL, Parcel and private delivery) into the FMIS system in an accurate and timely manner while maintaining an orderly and efficient receiving dock.
As the receiving supervisor, the following areas will be under the incumbent’s responsibilities:
This is a working Supervisory position. Employee will be required to perform receiving functions when surge or assigned personnel absences.
Supervisory level understanding of general warehouse and operational concepts.
Reports to Program Manager and Inventory Manager for daily work assignments.
- Responsible for the successful and safe execution with verifying materials against receiving and shipping documents. Reporting discrepancies and damages.
- Execute and confirm routing of receipts into assigned locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory locations to ensure efficient pick process.
- The ability to investigate/root cause analysis of receiving and warehouse issues as they arise.
- Ensure that processes are adhered to and monitored for compliance throughout the material’s lifecycle.
- Purchase order reconciliation when/where needed.
- Available on a rotation basis for overnight and weekend coverage of (EMR) emergency orders.
- Assist in cycle counting to maintain compliance in meeting contractual obligations of KPI’s.
- Communicates with internal and external customers as needed with regard to documentation, reports, problems and general communication.
- Formulates and enforces standards, assigns schedules and tasks, reviews work for accuracy and supervises warehouse associates.
- Ability to use fork trucks, reach trucks or power equipment to perform warehouse assignments.
Required Qualifications
- 4 yeras of experience in a logistics discipline
- 2 years prior supervisor or team lead experience
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- COVID-19 Vaccine
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisor experience in a union environment highly desirable
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
