Retail Store Reviewer
Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG) seeks independent contractors (1099) to serve as “Retail Store Reviewers” to perform store reviews in all 50 U.S. States, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Reviewers will visit and assess stores in or near their city of residence to measure store conditions, collect food inventory, and capture photographs. Reviewers will follow standardized inspection procedures to complete and document the inspections and electronically transmit the collected information to MSG.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete initial and follow-up online training on how to perform store inspections properly
- Travel to assigned retailers and perform inspections of retail stores from your city of residence within a few days’ notice
- Liaison with store employees to coordinate inspections which are typically not announced to store staff prior to the Reviewer’s arrival at the store
- Document store conditions and performance relative to standard policies and guidelines
- Perform inspections using a smartphone-based inspection application and take relevant pictures on your mobile device as part of inspection performance and documentation
- Perform inspections following guidance from project team leaderships to ensure inspections are performed professionally and properly
- Accurately measure dimensions of a store
- Develop store layout and content maps
- Electronically transmit the information via a smart app
General Requirements
- Have an internet-connected device with which you can complete initial and follow-up inspection training
- Have a smart mobile device capable of installing and using an app that will be used to collect and transmit data collected during the store inspections (mobile device should not be older than 6 years old to reduce the likelihood of incompatibility with the inspection mobile app)
- Ability to access the internet so the inspection mobile application can transmit data to MSG
- Ability and willingness to travel to stores in or around your city
- Willingness to travel to and perform inspections in areas that may include high crime or difficult to reach locations
- Ability to interact with people calmly and professionally, including store staff if they are not cooperative
- Have obtained a high school diploma

- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- High communications and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Flexible and able to easily shift priorities with a can-do attitude in a fast-paced, often changing environment
- Possess and maintain a valid state or national identity card (e.g., driver’s license) during the period of engagement
Other
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have access to a reliable computer/laptop/smart device
- Independent contractor role
- Inspection tasks will be issued on an as-needed basis
- Work hours are variable
- Although it is not a requirement, prior retail experience is considered favorably
