GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for the strategic management of Spare Parts & Attachments portfolio for Manitou Equipment America - Service & Solutions division. Find, evaluate and select suppliers; negotiate pricing, confidentiality and LTA contracts, and drive suppliers productivity & total cost improvement of purchased materials, with a focus on competitive products. Secure the long-term supply of captive products through suitable negotiations and contracts setup. Build value-added relationships with key suppliers and increase their overall performance.
Work closely with Product Line Managers, Tactical Buyers, Engineering and Quality teams to set and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies that support the North America Attachments & Spare Parts business plan. Work on leveraging and synergy opportunities within the US, European & Indian strategic sourcing teams of Manitou Group, focusing on common global commodities and suppliers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identification, qualification, and selection of new suppliers; preparation and execution of RFQ and competitive bidding events; creation and evaluation of complex business cases.
- Leading Contract/LTA negotiations and compliance to optimize cost, quality, capacity, delivery metrics and secure/increase Manitou group market share.
- Evaluate current spend and supplier data, identify improvement opportunities and drive their completion.
- Manage the two-pronged task of identifying new global supply sources as well as rationalizing and consolidating the existing supply base and commodity list.
- Work with European & Indian teams to leverage spend across regions to identify and implement sourcing and process improvements.
- Project and/or Program Manager activities, leading projects to meet objectives and drive operational results.
- Collaborate with product line managers and engineering on new product development to get design with optimal cost of functions and deliver products on time and at or below cost targets.
- Assess and adjust supply base capability and capacity to minimize potential supply disruptions.
- Develop, measure, and manage key supplier performance metrics.
- Identify, initiate, and support Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated experience of multiple commodities portfolio management is required: Previous annual spend under management of $10M or more and a minimum 5000 SKUs
- Examples of leading negotiations of a complex long-term agreement(s) are required
- Demonstrated record of identifying, initiating, and delivering year over year cost savings
- Ability to develop, interpret and make decisions from total cost of ownership models is a must
- Practical knowledge of how supply chains work and ability to assess cost drivers of industrial processes
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with domestic and overseas resources
- Pragmatic Team player, with a strong autonomy, who can successfully interact with internal and external organizations and effectively communicate verbally and in writing in a timely manner to ensure positive results
- 5 years’ experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing role is desired
EXPERTISE:
- Advanced negotiation skills is desired
- Keen attention to details and analytical skills are a must
- Strong influence & communication skills are desired
- IFS experience or working knowledge of other ERP systems is a must
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills inclusive of all Microsoft Business Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and of videoconference tools is a must
- Full proficiency in Analysis tools (MS Excel, google sheets, …) advanced features (Pivot table, vlookup, pareto, cells formatting, variance)
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or strong industry experience with engineering or technical background is desired

- Internal: Marketing, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales & pricing, Accounting
- External: Suppliers, Dealers
LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:
- This position is located in West Bend, WI.
- Travel up to 15% travel both domestically and international may be required.
