Social Media Internship

Do you live in Albany, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Lake George, or the Adirondack regions? Do you love combining your flair for the creative with your social media savvy? Have a passion for photography? Enjoy a fast-paced environment? Love checklists and organization?

Then we’ve got a great internship opportunity for you! We are currently looking for part-time interns who can help our tourism marketing team during Spring and Summer of 2024. The time commitment can be flexible depending upon your school's internship requirements.

The internship will focus on learning organic and paid social strategies, working with the Social Media Manager to craft and schedule posts on a variety of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, run ad campaigns, create reports, content creation, and more. 

This is a remote position, but it is crucial that candidates are located in the region of Upstate New York that we cover, including Albany, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Lake George, and/or the Adirondacks. In your cover letter, please tell us a bit about your connection to the area.

Responsibilities:

• Create social media posts about upcoming events, business openings, and other regional news
• Assist in taking beautiful photos and/or videos of the region that would be incorporated into various online articles, guides, email newsletters, social media, etc.
• Work with social media manager to coordinate with influencers
• Attend local events as needed and capture content to be utilized across social media platforms
• Create social media calendars
• Assist in creating and optimizing social ad campaigns
• Foster a positive community spirit for locals, tourists, small businesses and nonprofits in the areas represented.
• Channel your organizational skills to help the team with a variety of tasks
• Administrative duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Data entry in admin system and project management software
  • Keeping task list current, populated with notes and up to date
  • Daily time clocking and tracking of assignments

Ideal Candidates:

• You love to write and are really good at it
• You’re a rising junior, senior or grad student
• Are passionate about social media marketing
• You have an interest in photography/ videography
• You’re detail oriented
• You like working in fast-paced environment
• You have strong regional knowledge of the Capital/Saratoga Region and/or Adirondacks

Compensation:

• We have one paid internship available, as well as three unpaid internships.
