Internship Overview
Mansfield’s Internship will be a full-time paid internship ($16/hour) in Gainesville, GA, working 40 hours per week from May 22, 2023 through August 2, 2023.
The goal of the Sales Internship is to provide a well-rounded business management education to the intern. Intern will perform value-added, impactful activities for Mansfield while learning critical skills including lead generation, research, and cold calling.
In addition to learning business management skills which are transferable to any future career, the intern will walk away with a working knowledge of Mansfield’s industry position, our suppliers, carriers and our customers.
Description
The Sales Intern will be responsible for generating new sales leads to support the channel sales team’s efforts in new business development. This position will build and cultivate prospective relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications with qualified leads in order to facilitate movement of opportunities through the sales funnel.
Daily Activities
Business Development Support
- Work with the sales team to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet quarterly revenue goals
- Research markets and industries for companies to identify those with a potential fuel need through sources such as Google and Google Earth.
- Understands prospective customers’ needs and requirements; educate prospective customers on current Mansfield Oil solutions and product offerings, to effectively utilize these offerings to acquire a lead’s business
- Initiate and maintain contact with qualified leads provided from the sales development and/or marketing teams; maintain an existing call cycle to generate qualified leads into sales opportunities
- Cold call or cold email businesses and coordinate appointments with sales team for follow-up calls while maintaining a courteous and professional attitude
- Maintain CRM database with lead information
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the company’s target market and sales cycle
- Provide the sales teams with feedback and prospect insights that could be helpful in accelerating their sales success
