Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in the Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Join our integrated technical team providing Software Support for Army and Joint tactical communications systems in Aberdeen, MD. Working in our Software Development environment on the Army's unified One Network, you will ensure that our nation's Warfighters can continue to rely on uninterrupted mission command and secure reliable voice, video and data communications worldwide at every phase of the joint operational spectrum.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Configuring and implementing Tactical network components to ensure high reliability and optimal availability of the network and applications.
- Providing customer support services by investigating, analyzing and evaluating problems in system software, application software interfacing and/or IT equipment to isolate and correct cause of malfunctions.
- Performing these functions across most of the network facilities including physical media, virtual machines, protocol stacks, hubs, routers, bridges, gateways, digital servers, and network management components.
- Modifying network configurations to bring in other networks.
- System monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment troubleshooting and isolating problems, gauging network performance, and tracing data and protocol activity.
- Devising solutions to moderately complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.
- Working with cross-functional team members to produce, test, and deliver a software baseline for Tactical Network systems
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Engineering, or Math) or equivalent, and 3 or more years of related Network Engineering experience.
- Cybersecurity Requirements: IAT Level 2 or above.
- Must maintain a Computing Environment certification for the applicable Operating System (i.e. Microsoft Server 2012 or Database SQL).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active operating system certification, such as Microsoft, Linux, VMware, etc.
- Hands on experience with VLAN routing.
- Hands on experience with Brocade, Juniper, Palo Alto, and CISCO switch / networking experience.
- Satellite Transmission Systems and RF Transmission Systems.
- Experience with Tactical Network systems.
- Experience with COMSEC and TACLANEs.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Interim or Active Secret Security Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
- Frequently moves Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing up to 70 pounds across and/or around a business campus or large facility.
For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license.
