Description:
The Azure Architect is a team member involved in many aspects of a customer engagement; from leading a team, to the collaboration with other team members and customers to determine the best solution for a particular engagement to the design, development, and delivery of software products.
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing the following standards:
• Building a technical and security architecture in Azure for selected apps/workloads
• Lead assessments with the clients on designed Azure architecture
• Selecting migration approaches to moving existing applications from on-prem to Azure or architecting a greenfield development platform for new applications
• Keeping Clients up to date on latest Azure and complementary cloud offerings
• Assisting with DevOps Implementation, tooling and process
• Test Azure standards that impact ALM methodology
• Work with Development Architects to help implement Cloud technologies
Qualifications:
• Deep understanding and experience with agile development practices, including unit testing and continuous integration
• Willingness to take on additional responsibility to ensure team success and quality solutions
• Team player that understands how your own work is important to the team's success
• Ability to multitask across different projects
• Become a partner and trusted advisor to clients, advising on best-fit technologies and best practices
• Working knowledge of the following technologies:
• Azure
• Azure Resource Management
• .NET framework, including ASP.NET development, Windows Forms, WCF, WPF
• C#, VB.NET
• SQL Server 2008, 2012 and/or 2014
• TFS (Team Foundation Server 2010 >) or VSTS
• Automated Deployments to multiple environments
• Systems Operations/Management
• Ability to design Highly Distributed Applications (ability to design for availability, reliability)
• Demonstrate the capability to work with the tools involved to implement and ensure compliance with the process put in place
• Experience implementing ALM and Scrum
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Professionalism; to include written and oral communication – the ability to communicate collaboratively in front of a whiteboard. An ability to understand your audience and adjust your communication style to fit them
• Ability to learn business concepts quickly
• A desire to constantly learn and share new knowledge, whether this is reading a book and posting a review on our Yammer, or giving a lunch and learn about the hottest new topics in your field
• A caring attitude – care about what you do, who you do it with and how you’re going to be successful in the end
