The Press Preparator plays a crucial role in the operation of newspaper printing presses and associated equipment. They are responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining the presses to ensure high-quality printing output.
The role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include but not limited to :
- Prepare, operate, and maintain newspaper printing presses and associated pressroom equipment.
- Set up pasters, web presses, and push rolls to ensure smooth printing operations.
- Hang printing plates accurately and efficiently.
- Adjust color and registration settings to meet quality standards.
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance of pressroom equipment.
- Ensure reproduction quality meets customer expectations.
- Maintain content freshness and productivity standards.
- Manage materials consumption cost-effectively.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in press preparation, operation, and maintenance preferred.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining printing presses and related equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
