What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Manufacturing?
K-2 MFG is looking for a qualified Quality Inspector. We are a growing Sheet Metal Manufacturing company that specializes in commercial, medical, automotive, and aerospace parts. This is a very dynamic, yet fast paced environment. Hours are Monday - Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. Our current quality team consist of our Quality Manager, Lead Quality Inspector, and Quality/Production Control. The ideal candidate would be fluent in AS9100 paperwork, as well as inspecting parts. This is both a hands on and computer position. The inspection office is located central in our shop.
Summary: Process and inspect orders per ISO:9001/AS9100 guidelines and internal requirements.
Quality Inspector Job Responsibilities:
Ø Maintains quality standards by approving materials and validating outside processes; performing in-process inspections; creating inspection records; and recording quality results.
Ø Follows and upholds quality requirements set by Quality Manager, QMS ISO:9001/AS9100D standard and customer requirements.
Ø Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend quality expectations for the product.
Ø Supports the Quality Manager with regard to both Quality and Safety.
Quality Inspector Job Duties:
Ø Approve materials by confirming material type, thickness and finish match the route sheet.
Ø Verify and approve in-process operations by conducting visual and inspection measurements to print.
Ø Review route sheet & drawing for specification requirements, finish requirements, tolerance allowances.
Ø Inspection documentation requirements and methods vary per customer. All jobs; at a minimum will have critical dimensions recorded on the drawing.
· Customer PO, route sheet, and/or customer drawings will provide the customer requirements. These may include: recording dimensions on customer drawing, C of C, FAIR, DIP, Certs.
Ø Verify information on routers match customer and/or K2 prints.
Ø Alerting Material Review Board of any non-conformities during production and recording non-conformities within the quality database in the ERP.
Ø Maintain open lines of communication to Production, Shipping, and Quality Manager to help facilitate the movement of jobs on the production floor.
Ø Monitor and maintain inspection equipment to ensure it is well-maintained and producing accurate results. Maintain records to document calibration.
Ø Perform roaming inspections to ensure employees are maintaining compliance to Quality and Production procedures.
Ø Accessing customer portals to upload reports and documentation, obtain current revision of specifications.
Ø Plans and coordinates inspection requirements, including but not limited to:
· First piece inspection
· In-process inspection
· Final inspection
· Batch control
Ø Fill out applicable Job Router operation completely and accurately.
Ø Responsible for the general cleaning and area organization on a daily basis.
Ø Work with Safety Manager to ensure the safety of shop floor.
Ø Hours are Monday through Friday 6:00a.m. to 2:30p.m. Overtime as requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities
